Sport Stories Press Notebook
Do you want to share a piece of your sports story but don’t want to write a whole book about it? Did you read an amazing book about sportswomen or amateur athletes and want to share it? Consider submitting your story or book notes for publication in the Sports Stories Press Notebook. It’s free to submit! Check out our Notebook for examples of what we like to share.
We are actively seeking stories from athletes who participate in any sport at any level with an emphasis on amateur sportswomen. Here are some ways you can share your story:
Write a short piece up to 700 words.
Participate in an interview with an editor. This can be a written interview or a half-hour Zoom interview.
Submit a workout that you’re proud of completing.
Share a snippet from your journal/training log.
Submit a photo of you in action in your sport. (Photos are encouraged for all submissions!)
Nominate a friend or teammate to submit a short piece.
We are also actively seeking notes (like a review, but less formal) that feature sportswomen and/or amateur athletes.
Write up to 700 words about the book.
Include information like an author bio, book summary, the book’s strengths and opportunities, what drew you to it, how it has affected you as a reader and/or athlete, similar books, and why you’d recommend it.
Although we want honest notes and encourage critique, we’re here to lift up authors and athletes, not to pan books.
Use the Share Your Story button below to send us a submission or a short query explaining the story, book notes, or other content you’d like to share in the Sport Stories Press notebook. Have an idea for other content that fits our theme and core values? Send us a query!
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept or provide feedback on every submission we receive. This means we may need to turn down high-quality, creative, and innovative work.
We look forward to receiving your stories!
